Are great physicians born or developed?
I want to share with you a story that might shed light on that answer.
The British musician and producer Brian Eno reflected on his education as a visual art student. In grad school, he was taught that artistic revolution came from solitary figures—Picasso, Kandinsky, Rembrandt.
But as he studied the lives of these revolutionaries, he discovered them to be products of “very fertile scenes involving lots and lots of people—some of them artists, some of them collectors, some of them curators, thinkers, theorists… all sorts of people who created a kind of ecology of talent.”
Rather than attribute to these revolutionaries the term "genius," Eno instead called it “Scenius.” “Scenius,” he said, “is the intelligence of a whole… operation or group of people.”
This is true across so many fields, including medicine. The best physicians are products of a remarkably rich ecology of talent.
Netscape founder Marc Andreesen echoed this very same sentiment:
"Throughout history you've had this clustering effect. You had clustering of the great artists and sculptors in Renaissance Florence. You had the clustering of the philosophers of Greece. You have the clustering of tech people in Silicon Valley. You have the clustering of the creative arts -- movie and TV people -- in Los Angeles. And so forth. There's always a scene and a nexus where people come together."
That's what The Pre-Med Academy is all about!
We've brought together a cluster of the most talented and dedicated teachers, mentors, tutors, and admissions consultants to help develop some of the top pre-med students in the country to help students maximize their potential!
Our goal is to prepare our students so well with essential skills and knowledge that it becomes unreasonable for them not to gain acceptance into the top Medical Schools in the country!
My promise to you is that I will spare no effort, or expense, to create the greatest culture for Pre-Med student success in the nation. Our dream is to make medicine better. Join us!
Yours,
The O. Chem Master
We tap into a network of individuals who been admitted to and are alumni of the following programs.
At the Pre-Med Academy, we gamify academic success. Earn badges for each achievement and watch your skills grow as you collect them. Rather than placing pressure on our student to perform academically, we turn academic excellence into engaging and meaningful quests.
"Being gameful means bringing the psychological strengths you naturally display when you play games—such as optimism, creativity, courage, and determination—to your real life. It means having the curiosity and openness to play with different strategies to discover what works best. It means building up the resilience to tackle tougher and tougher challenges with greater and greater success." - Jane McGonigal
Developing the right culture
Our mission is to encourage students to learn deeply and develop the creativity, curiosity, reasoning ability, and self-discipline that lead to critical thinking and academic success; and to aid students in becoming the top Pre-Med students in the country.
Achieving the school's educational mission depends greatly upon the quality of the environment where students learn and are developed.
At the Pre-Med Academy we seek to ensure that every student feels seen and has the tools to thrive, thereby empowering them to develop lives of character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
If we proved the care and support to our students, they can pour into their family, the friends, the future patients, and their community.
Our goal equip each graduating class with the use of Artificial Intelligence as it abuts medicine, Entrepreneurship and medical innovation, novel models of medical practice, and for students to develop the network necessary to bring those skills together to build their practices and innovate in the field they are called to.
Our Strategic Framework is built on the core principles of Well-Being and Social/Emotional Development, Excellence in Scholarship, A Community of Belonging, and lastly, a Focus on Medical Innovation and Skill building.
Our strategic framework allows us to align our entire community around a set of clearly defined objectives, with consistent measures of progress that provide guideposts for action while allowing for agility in our uncertain world. It also identifies measures of progress toward the articulated objectives for broadening and deepening inclusion and belonging, as well as several near-term initiatives that we intend to pursue.

Excellence in Scholarship
Excellence in scholarship is a hallmark of The Pre-Med Academy. The school believes that a foundational sense of confidence and belonging facilitates scholarly excellence. Excellence also requires a global perspective, enhanced through periodic adjustment of the curriculum and co-curricular activities and Global Educational Opportunities, which allow students to engage deeply with differing perspectives and experiences, both within and outside the United States.

Student experience regarding the relevance, inclusiveness, and diversity of curricula
Degree and diversity of student participation in Global Educational Opportunities(international and domestic)
Diversity of Global Education Opportunities offerings including the number of countries and hospitals visited
Well-Being and Social/Emotional Development
Students’ well-being and social/emotional development are prerequisites to the sense of belonging emphasized in this strategic framework. In fact, they are prerequisites to all other goals—essential if the Pre-Med Academy is to advance its mission and provide students the opportunity to reach their full academic, athletic, spiritual, artistic, and personal potential.
Research indicates that a sense of belonging is essential to an adolescent's well-being and effective functioning and is a critical motivator of human behavior. It is especially important between the ages of twelve and eighteen, when adolescents establish a sense of self and how they fit into the world. The Pre-Med Academy recognizes the influence it has on students’ development and well-being. In addition, we believe that prospective families increasingly will consider a school’s commitment to and investment in student well-being and social/emotional development; likewise, well-being competencies will become increasingly important and valued in life beyond The Pre-Med Academy.
